2023 Ford Transit Custom – When used in this context, the word “spy picture” conjures up a notion that is rather distinct from what we often convey. There does not seem to be a single piece of camouflage attached to any part of this Ford van that we can locate. We notice no plastic panels. There are no counterfeit light decals available. Even the Ford logos are prominently displayed on the vehicle. At least in terms of the exterior look, the long-awaited all-new Ford Transit Custom has finally been shown to the public.
The Transit Custom is a type of van that is sold in Europe, where the current generation of this vehicle has been on the market for quite some time. In the spirit of complete transparency, there are several aspects of this specific van that are worthy of being brought to your attention. There is no camouflage that we can make out, but there is black tape covering the whole body line of the van where the elevated top rests. Beyond that, there is further tape on the bodyline, and above that, there is an additional tape that reaches around the front of the steeply slanted roof. The reason for this is unclear, but it’s a good indication that the car won’t be going on a lot at a dealership anytime soon. In addition to it, the rear bumper and the housing for the mirrors are not present.

In light of the bigger picture, however, they are rather insignificant issues. The next-generation Transit Custom has been seen without any discernible camouflage, suggesting that its public debut may be just around the horizon. This point is driven home by the fact that a brand new all-electric E-Transit Custom was shown in May, and it has almost a similar look to the original. However, not all of the information on the E-Transit was disclosed; Ford said that further information will be provided in September. We anticipate the availability of a variety of gasoline and diesel engines, the majority of which will likely be either straight carryovers of the 2.2-liter and 2.0-liter engines that are now marketed or variants of those engines. Regarding the act of driving, I believe that this is going to be really enjoyable. We are going to make the assumption that the new E-Transit Custom will employ the same engine and battery that we have seen in the E-Transit since Ford did not actually provide any more technical specifications than the fact that it has a range of 380 kilometers (236 miles). That translates to two power options: 181 horsepower and 265 horsepower, both of which drive the rear wheels. Both are producing 431 Newton-meters of torque (318 pound-feet).
The 2023 E-Transit will be produced at the Ford Otosan factory in Turkey. It will share production lines with the next VW Transporter and will go on sale at some point in the course of the coming year. It will support DC charging at up to 115kW and it will offer V2L charging with up to 2.3kW load. This means that power tools, lights, and even a small electric oven that is adequate for warming up lunch and making a cup of tea can be plugged into the van. The van will also feature a center screen that is 12 inches in size, just like the E-Transit. On paper, this van checks off so many requirements that it begins to appear like the ideal vehicle; nevertheless, we will have to wait and see whether it can really deliver.

2023 Ford Transit Custom Pricing
To this far, Ford has only provided specifics on the all-electric variant of the 2023 Transit Custom, which they call the E-Transit Custom. It will be a part of what Ford says will be the broadest variety of Transit Custom models that have ever been made available in Europe. This range will also feature a conventional diesel model in addition to mild and plug-in hybrids.
The electric version is a continuation of Ford’s first genuine effort at a mass-produced electric van, which was the larger E-Transit, which is already available for purchase.
